The frame
Does it glow like a screen?
No. There is no backlight. It reflects room light like a real print, so it is easy on the eyes and completely at home in a dark bedroom.
Does it need to be plugged in?
No. Monaly runs about a year on a single charge, because color e-paper only uses power in the few seconds it takes to change the picture. Hang it anywhere, no socket required.
Can I hang it in a bedroom or a child's room?
Yes. No backlight, no blue light, no sound, no heat. It reads like a framed print, so it is at home in a bedroom or a nursery.
What size is it, and what can it show?
A 13.3-inch six-color e-paper panel at 1200×1600, portrait or landscape. Show art from living artists in the store, or your own photos.
How fast does the art change?
A new picture settles onto the panel in around half a minute, then holds with no power, even switched off. It is meant to be lived with, not flicked through.
Will it get ghosting or burn-in?
There is no burn-in, it is not a screen. E-paper can leave a faint trace of the last picture, and a full refresh on the next change clears it, so in normal use you will not notice it.

Do I need wifi or an account?
Neither. You send art from the free app straight to the frame over Bluetooth. Nothing goes through the cloud, and your art stays yours.
How do I change the picture?
Pick a piece and send it to the frame with the free app. The new picture settles in about half a minute, then holds with no power.
Can I show my own photos?
Yes. Next to the store of living artists, you can send your own photos from the app, framed for portrait or landscape so they sit right.
Is the app really free?
Yes. The app and the whole platform are free, with no subscription and no account. You pay once for the frame, and only for art you choose to buy.

I'm an artist. How does it work for me?
Upload your work for free, with no fee to join. When someone buys a piece, you keep 80%. Your art reaches real walls, not just feeds.
As an artist, do I keep my rights?
Always. You choose which pieces are on Monaly and for how long, and you can take them down whenever you like. Your originals stay entirely yours.
